Joan Adams Campillo Memorial Conference Scholarship 2020

Regretfully, the 2020 NSEA|NEASEA Conference has been cancelled due to the continued issues surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and as such, we will not be able move forward with scholarships for this year. For more information on the conference cancellation and the upcoming free webinars, please visit the conference website.

Student employment has been shown to have a positive effect on students’ decisions to stay in higher education. Experienced professionals are needed to mentor and support these students, while understanding the federal regulations which govern these programs.

NSEA will fund five (5) Joan Adams Campillo Memorial Scholarships. This is a great opportunity for administrators to attend several professional development sessions (excluding SEE Training) at the national conference held in Baltimore, MD on October 14th - October 16th, 2020. The scholarship will pay the conference registration fee of $475 plus annual membership dues of $150 per recipient and up to a $500 stipend for conference expenses.

This award was named in memoriam of Joan Adams Campillo, a longtime member of NSEA who showed outstanding commitment to the organization through service and dedication. She believed in the organization's commitment to the development of the student employment professional.

Application Requirements

  • Complete the application

Your letter of support and participation statement should be uploaded during your application process.

Note: Preference will be given to institutions who are not current NSEA members, members who have not been able to attend a conference in the past, and institutions with no funding available for professional development.

Recipients of this scholarship will be notified. The recipients must complete their NSEA Conference Registration Form by the early bird deadline. Recipients are responsible for making their own travel and hotel arrangements. Refer to the NSEA website for additional conference, hotel and descriptions of the various professional development sessions.

In these ever changing days we find ourselves in, if the 2020 Annual Conference does not occur as planned in October, recipients of the 2020 Campillo, Diversity, and SEE Training Scholarships will need to reapply for scholarships for the 2021 Conference and SEE Training. 2020 Scholarships will not transfer to the 2021 Conference and SEE Training.
